We have done a few experiments with kids, asking them to describe their surroundings when using their Gator watch. Responses are often ‘tree’, ‘road’, ‘car’, ‘house’, ‘bricks’, ‘fence’. While these responses are helpful, in the event your child’s curiosity of the world makes you lose sight of them, greater detail will allow you to find them more quickly. Show your kids how to describe their surroundings by focusing on things around them that stand out such as location codes on parking meters, road signs, a red door on a house, house numbers or a special kind of tree.
